About the Book

The witch is alone again on her birthday, so she bakes a Cake Girl to sing, dance, and do all the housework for her.

She plans to eat her afterwards but Cake Girl shows her just how much more enjoyable it is to make friends and have fun! The duo then end up having the best birthday either of them have ever had!

This book is beautifully illustrated and written by David Lucas, portraying a sweet, new-found friendship between the witch and Cake Girl. The story somewhat gives children an insight about the contrast between loneliness, and having company. Read this book with your little ones and have a talk about friendships!
