9 Elmer-zing Activities with 'Elmer' by David McKee

Elmer was a very different elephant, he was a patchwork elephant. Unlike his friends, Elmer was all the other colours except elephant colour. It was Elmer who kept the other elephants happy. Until one day, he tried to be like the other elephants, to be the same colour.

He was pleased with not being recognised at first, but his true nature unleashed and he couldn't bear the boredom anymore! He soon revealed who he really was and created more laughter than ever.

Elmer by David McKee

A book about Elmer, a patchwork elephant, a different elephant. Unlike his friends, Elmer was all the other colours except elephant colour. It was Elmer who kept the other elephants happy, until one day, he tried to be like the other elephants, to be the same colour.

He was pleased with not being recognised at first, but his true nature unleashed and he couldn't bear the boredom anymore! He soon revealed who he really was and created more laughter than ever.

Elmer’s subtle message, that it is OK to be different, resonates with children across the world. Elmer the colourful patchwork elephant has been a nursery favourite since 1989.
